BOOK A CONSULTATION

Whether you’re looking for a classic solitaire ring set on a gold band, or after something a little more contemporary, we’ll be happy to help.

Our jewellers are experts in engagement rings so you don’t have to be. We’ll take the time to educate you on the 4 C’s of diamonds and how these affect the overall quality and look of the finished ring. Of course, you don’t need to stick with tradition and choose a diamond for your engagement ring as there are many other precious gemstones that look equally stunning.

Diamond types

There are many different styles of engagement rings available and some of the most popular ones include solitaire, shoulder set, trilogy, cluster and vintage. As well as the style you’ll also need to consider the diamond shape, size and setting. To help you out we’ve listed some of the most popular shapes of diamonds below:

Marquise – An elongated oval shape, the marquise cut often looks bigger than diamonds of the same weight making it a great choice for those looking for something really unique.
Asscher – Often called a square emerald cut, the Asscher has trimmed corners and is a very visually attractive style of diamond.
Cushion – An old style cut but one that has seen a resurgence in popularity recently, the cushion cut diamond is a great choice for romantics.
Emerald – This trap cut diamond has a rectangular shape which has the appearance of an endless mirror and is a classic and stylish cut.
Heart – While not common in engagement rings, the heart-shaped diamond is often found in necklaces and earrings. The right diamond can look spectacular in a ring.
Oval – For those with small hands the oval cut is a great choice as it can help give the illusion of length to the hand.
Pear – A cross between an oval and marquise the pear shape is a flattering cut for those with slim fingers and really stands out from the crowd.
Princess – A brilliant cut diamond with sharp corners the Princess cut is known as a fancy shape and is a great alternative to a round diamond.
Radiant – Offering similar brilliance and fire of a round cut diamond the radiant cut is a great choice for those looking for maximum sparkle.
Round – The most popular diamond shape, the round brilliant cut diamond is a classic and one that is sure to impress.
